Our Backpack Bridge Program runs in 14 different schools across Walla Walla and Columbia County. During a backpack bridge bag build, 5lbs bags are created by volunteers consisting of 2 breakfast foods, 2 snacks, and 2 lunches geared towards being easy to eat for students to be able to have at home during the weekends. Volunteers walk around crates of food as they place items into bags to create these 5lb bags. A great opportunity to get steps in while conversing and singing along to music.
WA volunteers are able to park in the warehouse parking lot as well as along the street curbs or in the empty field directly across from the food bank.
Work gloves are suggested but not needed. Box Knifes will be provided as needed for opening boxes
