The Adult Literacy Program helps adults to reach personal goals in improving their education, such as:
- Reading
- Writing
- English language
- GED testing preparation
- Citizenship testing preparation
- Computer skills
- CNA exam preparation
- and more!
Students are paired one-on-one with a tutor. We ask students and tutors to commit to meeting twice each week for 60-minute sessions. Tutoring must take place in a public location. Meeting days, times and location are determined by mutual agreement of student and tutor.
All tutors participate in a 3-hour general training with the program director. Our English literacy curriculum (Essentials) and our ESL curriculum (Intercambio) provide online self-paced training modules we ask tutors to complete prior to using the materials.
