Wooly Wonders Fiber Art Helper

Wooly Wonders invites participants to “paint with wool” through a sensory-rich felting experience. Your role helps participants safely explore soft fibers, textures, and colors while bringing their creative ideas to life.

Your Purpose

• Treat everyone with dignity and respect. Speak to participants as you would any other teen or adult.

• Help participants choose wool colors and demonstrate how to layer and shape fibers to create their designs.

• Encourage creativity, imagination, and experimentation with color and texture.

• Assist with gentle felting techniques and help stabilize materials when participants need support.

• Be mindful of sensory needs—some participants may enjoy touching the fibers while others may prefer limited contact.

• Watch for signs of frustration or overstimulation and offer reassurance or a short break if needed.

• Celebrate each participant’s effort and creativity as their artwork develops.

• Support positive social interaction by encouraging participants to share ideas and admire each other’s creations.

• Assist with serving dinner and helping clean up wool fibers and materials at the end of the event.
