Rhythm & Moves Music Guide

Rhythm & Moves is a joyful, sensory-rich session filled with music, instruments, and movement. Volunteers help participants explore rhythm while staying safe and engaged.

Your Purpose

• Treat everyone with dignity and respect. Speak to participants as you would any other child.

• Encourage participants to explore instruments, movement, and dance in their own way.

• Help demonstrate activities like freeze dance, follow-the-leader, or rhythm games.

• Support children in staying within their “movement bubbles” for safety.

• Celebrate enthusiasm and participation—every beat and movement counts.

• Offer encouragement to participants who may feel shy or unsure about joining in.

• Watch for sensory overload and help participants take breaks when needed.

• Model positive group participation and support turn-taking with instruments.

• Assist with distributing instruments and helping collect materials during cleanup.
