Description

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training covers basic skills that are important to know in a disaster when emergency services are not available. With training and practice, and by working as a team, you will be able to protect yourself and maximize your capability to help the greatest number of people after a disaster.

Certification takes a combined 24 hours of classroom and exercise time, and is required before you can be activated as a Walla Walla Valley CERT member during a real disaster.

  • Tuesday, April 7 from 8 am - 5 pm (Classroom or Online)
  • Wednesday, April 8 from 8 am - 5 pm (Classroom or Online)
  • Thursday, April 9 from 8 am - 5 pm (Hands-on Practical Simulated Training)

Unable to attend three full days of CERT Training due to your schedule? Take the classroom portion online! Get a certificate of basic training through HazReady.com — scroll down to ONLINE TRAINING - CERT 3.0 and register (free). Please email your certificate to che@wallawalla.edu by April 1st.

We encourage you to attend in-person. This three-day course will be taught by Celso Rangel a retired US Army who currently works as the Washington State CERT Program Coordinator. Celso speaks 11 languages, serves on the National CERT Association board, and represents those who speak English as a second language within the CERT world.

The classroom and training will be free for the first 40 people. CERT ProPac Kits will be offered for $90.

This training is available for anyone ages 13 years and up (minors must be accompanied by an adult).

Please RSVP here before April 1st.
