Frenchtown Historical Foundation

Who We Are

The mission of the Frenchtown Historical Foundation is the preservation and interpretation, through research, signage, and educational outreach, of sites related to a 19th-century community of Native American, French Canadian and métis families in the Walla Walla Valley. The Foundation raises money to maintain and develop the site through membership, donations, and the annual Frenchtown Rendezvous.

What We Do

Frenchtown Historical Foundation maintains the historical site on Old Hwy 12 in Walla Walla. The site includes a cemetery, a 19th century cabin, a structure for gatherings, 23 acres restored to native plants, walking trails, and informative signs. The Foundation also supports and engages in historical and genealogical research surrounding the descendants of the French Canadian Voyageurs and Native Walla Walla and Cayuse tribes.
