We need YOUR help.

We are looking for a few "elves" to help us decorate for our annual breakfast with Santa! You would be helping us transform a room into the North Pole so kids can come visit Santa and have their pictures taken. We will also be setting up tables.

This event is for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

We are looking for a few "elves" to help spread some holiday cheer! You would be monitoring crafts, assisting kids in line for pictures with Santa, and bringing some holiday cheer!

We encourage you to dress the part!! Get as festive as you like.

If you can help us do a quick cleanup up we would welcome that as well.

About the Event
Ring in the new year with SOAR’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve - Eve! This festive celebration brings together friends for music, dancing, games, snacks, and plenty of laughter as we count down to a new year of fun and friendship. Participants will enjoy a lively, sensory-friendly environment filled with joy and community connection.

Your Purpose
As part of the Helping Hands crew, you’ll make sure our participants feel safe, included, and celebrated throughout the night. Your positive energy, attentiveness, and compassion help set the tone for a fun and welcoming event for everyone.
Treat everyone with dignity and respect. Speak to participants as you would any other teen or adult, be a friend, not a patron.

What You’ll Do

Welcome participants with warmth and enthusiasm as they arrive.

Help participants navigate the event, finding games, snacks, or activities.

Join the fun! Dance, play games, and celebrate side-by-side with participants.

Provide gentle support and redirection if someone feels overwhelmed or confused.

Safety Note: Stay alert for elopement risks. If a participant attempts to leave the event area, calmly follow, redirect, and alert staff immediately.

Encourage everyone to participate at their own comfort level, keeping the mood positive and inclusive.

Help with light event transitions (setting up or tidying activity areas as needed).

What to Bring / Know

Dress comfortably but festively: sparkle, color, and fun accessories are encouraged!

Wear shoes suitable for dancing and movement.

Bring your patience, kindness, and a smile that says, “Let’s celebrate together!”

This is a social, high-energy event; be ready to engage, connect, and have fun.
