Foam-tastic Creations is a hands-on art night where participants transform simple foam blocks into imaginative sculptures and painted masterpieces. Your role helps participants explore creativity while feeling supported, encouraged, and proud of what they create.

Your Purpose

• Treat everyone with dignity and respect. Speak to participants as you would any other teen or adult.

• Help participants get started by discussing their ideas, sketching designs, or planning how they want to shape their foam block.

• Assist with safely carving, shaping, and painting foam pieces as needed.

• Offer gentle support with tools or fine motor tasks such as holding foam steady or applying paint.

• Encourage creativity and remind participants that there is no “right” way to sculpt—every creation is unique.

• Celebrate effort, imagination, and progress throughout the activity.

• Watch for signs of frustration or overwhelm and offer patience, encouragement, or a short break.

• Support positive social interaction by encouraging participants to share ideas and compliment each other’s work.

• Assist with serving dinner and helping maintain a welcoming mealtime environment.

• Help organize materials and assist with cleanup at the end of the event.
