Do you enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and climbing? If so, this might be the volunteer opportunity for you! Help others enjoy these activities with a visit to the Wallula Gap Climbing area, which is located about 30 minutes from Walla Walla. It is enjoyed by many in the community and boasts many intermediate climbing opportunities. The trails see much use each year, and erosion has taken a toll on the approach trail and the base of the climbs. If you choose this opportunity, you will get to do some work on the approach trail and the belay stances to improve access and safety while climbing!
Be sure to wear weather-appropriate clothing to work with soils and foliage debris. Bring warm clothing and rainwear to accommodate changing weather patterns. Also, don't forget to bring a water bottle!
This project is not nearby and will require carpooling. One van of 9 will be available so please let us know if you need a ride.
