Volunteer: CARE Weekend X Biology Club -- Tuscannon River Fish TossThis CARE Weekend we are partnering with Biology Club to help the Tri-State Steelheaders with their Tucannon River Fish Toss! We will help toss salmon carcasses into the Tucannon River, to provide nutrients for its juvenile salmon, insects, and plants. This is a great way to get some exercise while also helping a local ecosystem thrive! About 20 volunteers are needed to help load the fish into trucks at Lyons Ferry Hatchery, and then distribute them along the river. To sign up for this event, please email brian.burns@tristatesteelheaders.com, who can also provide you with more information. If you need help with this, don't hesitate to reach out to one of the CARE Weekend coordinators. This event lasts from 8am - 2pm, but keep in mind that it takes about an hour to get there! If you need a ride, please reach out by Friday evening at the latest. Make sure to dress warmly, and wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty! If you have any questions please contact gina.lorenz@wallawalla.edu or aidan.richards@wallawalla.edu Agency: Center for Humanitarian Engagement (CHE) This CARE Weekend we are partnering with Biology Club to help the Tri-State Steelheaders with their Tucannon River Fish Toss!
